Still on vacation, blogger friends, so haven't been doing much yet by way of creating. But I love a good blog hop, and this one is especially for newbie bloggers!! So link up and tell everyone:
1. What state you are in: Illinois
2. Your current teaching position: 4th grade ESL/bilingual
3. Your teaching experience: I taught bilingual 2nd grade for two years, and bilingual 1st grade for one year
4. When you started blogging: I started my blog sometime during the last week of June 2012... So I've been blogging for almost a month now!
5. Share a blogging tip or resource: As simple as it sounds, I have found a lot of tutorials and how-tos just by googling "how do you...". :)

Thanks for joining the blog hop! Have you read the story The Barking Mouse? I heard the author speak this summer and he's hilarious! He assisted in an upper grade Writer's Workshop for 6 weeks. His grandmother used to tell the same joke over and over and he used the joke as the idea for The Barking Mouse. Basically, the family of mice is about to get eaten by a cat and the grandmother mouse barks at the cat and scares it away. She tells her thankful family, "See, it pays to speak two languages." I think it would be great for ESL classrooms!
ReplyDeleteSorry this was long! Have a great year!
